For a cup of coffee with the owner

Text: Kateřina Misiarzová, Jaroslav Drahoš

On the last day of July, another informal staff meeting with the owner of our printing plant took place – this time with the maintenance department.

Due to the holiday weather, we decided to use the outdoor space and have the meeting in the gazebo.

The discussion over good coffee and refreshments was in a relaxed atmosphere. These meetings allow employees to ask the owner any question, suggestion or comment.

The questions were therefore really diverse and the discussion touched on a variety of topics – from the evolution of the maintenance department over time, new possibilities and suggestions on how to improve the process to machine maintenance.

The meeting also included a summary of the areas of what has been done well in the department, what is and will be emphasized, where the team wants to move forward and what new developments are in the pipeline.

And how do the employees themselves rate these informal meetings? What was most beneficial for the participants?

Most often they appreciate the personal approach, the interest and sincerity of the owner, the opportunity to have an open and direct discussion, and the willingness to listen. Explaining the strategy and answering questions related to it was also very beneficial.

“The future of the company, the purchases of new machines means long-term work for all the employees of the printing company.”

“There was a welcoming atmosphere and I can see the benefit of definitely moving on somewhere.”

“The owner’s interest and finding out that he considers us an important part of the company.”

And again, thank you so much for your ideas, openness and the nice atmosphere.

We look forward to seeing you in the next department.

Why “For a cup of coffee”?

BECAUSE…

  • we’re still growing from a small printery with 19 employees, we have grown to become one of the largest printing houses in Europe with an international reach and more than 600 Finidraks.
  • Despite our size, I still want to maintain the family atmosphere company. I used to really know every employee, now it’s almost impossible.
  • It’s easier to discuss things over a good cup of coffee and in an informal atmosphere. and interesting ideas come up.
  • I’m interested in your opinions and suggestions.
  • I want you to have information directly from the source.
  • We’re an open society and we talk about the issues that concern us. we need to discuss together and openly.
  • I don’t want important issues to go unaddressed and potential problems to be covered up.
  • I want to personally answer your questions or issues related to and look for opportunities to get personally involved in our strategy. to engage with each of you.
  • I want to share my thoughts, key news or explain the steps we are taking and planning at FINIDR.
