A story of successful cooperation

Text: Lenka Hlisnikovská

During this summer, four boys from ADAM, an organisation dedicated to the support and development of children with autism, took part in a two-week work placement with us again. This collaboration was the result of a long-standing effort by ADAM to find opportunities for its mentees to gain practical experience and develop work skills in a real work environment.

Over the course of two weeks, Filip Pospěch, Daniel Cienciala, Filip Mariánek and Dominik Gerda enthusiastically engaged in a variety of activities related to finishing work at the handicraft workplace. The collaboration between ADAM and FINIDR is an example of how people with autism can be successfully integrated into the mainstream work environment. The temporary work not only helped the boys gain valuable experience and develop their skills, but also showed that with the right support and approach, people with autism can be a great asset to employers.

Filip’s story
One of the temporary workers, Filip Pospěch, deserves special attention, as he showed an extraordinary interest in working in the printery during his two-week brigade. Thanks to his diligence, hard work and ability to learn quickly, he gained the trust and appreciation of his colleagues. Filip decided to continue the brigade after the official end of the two-week program and asked us if he could become part of the team as an employee of our company.

Thanks to his dedication and willingness to work with us, Filip joined our FINIDR printing plant in September as a production worker on a manual labour basis. This step is a great personal achievement for Filip and represents a significant milestone in his professional life.

Filip’s story is an inspiration to other students and an affirmation that openness and inclusion in the workplace can lead to mutually beneficial collaboration. We look forward to more projects like this to help people with autism find their place in the labour market.
