One of the goals in 2024 was to maintain turnover at CZK 1.6 billion.
This was finally achieved despite some unplanned situations, such as the interruption of operations in September due to flooding at FINIDR B. This target was important, also because we knew that FINIDR would see a significant increase in energy prices, which had already been fixed for 2024 after the start of the energy crisis in 2022, following Russia’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine. This eventually resulted in an increase in energy costs of almost 100%. Overall, then, we outperformed last year in sales by 5.9%, although the number of orders produced was only 0.3% higher and we fell below 30 million titles in production.
This is FINIDR’s second-best result in terms of sales after 2022, although the year’s progress is otherwise not comparable to this non-standard year. For this reason, too, we must pay tribute to all the employees of our printing house who contributed in their own way to the 2024 result – either directly or in cooperation.
We are now entering 2025 and, according to current forecasts, the first quarter is looking a tiny bit better in terms of sales than 2024. Let us hope that this trend will continue throughout this year and that the 31st season of FINIDR will also be a success. I wish all of you, my dear colleagues, all the best not only at work but also outside of work.
