Winter is here and we all hope to enjoy the snow and the pleasures of winter sports for at least a few days this season.
I’d like to offer a tip for a day trip to the nearby Jeseníky Mountains for cross-country skiing. Specifically to Nová Ves near Karlov pod Pradědem.
You can start by driving up to 800 m above sea level to a perfectly prepared parking lot near the lookout tower. You can then embark on many kilometres of beautifully milled and groomed cross-country skiing trails. A pleasant benefit is the altitude, which has already been conquered by car, so you can enjoy winter hiking through the beautiful, gently undulating Jeseníky landscape.
I recommend a circuit through the Alfrédka to Skřítek and back. Apart from the beautiful nature, there is a nice and cosy mountain hut Alfrédka in the middle of the trail, where you can refresh yourself with a warm soup or a hot drink. There are plenty of options for easy cross-country skiing or even for super athletes, so I look forward to seeing you on the trail.
